FAQs

  • Acupuncture utilizes hair-thin needles to stimulate specific points on the body that induce change by triggering natural healing mechanisms of the body. It alters various biochemical and physiological conditions, including the release of pain-relieving endorphins, regulation of the nervous system, decreased inflammation, and improved circulation.

  • Most patients report feeling minimal sensation, and sometimes nothing at all! As acupuncture needles are thin as a hair, you may feel a slight pinch, similar to a mosquito bite, when the needles are placed, but this sensation should ease; if not, needles can be easily adjusted to your comfort. It is common to feel a slight ache, heavy feeling, or slight twitch around the needle site, which is a positive sign that your body is productively reacting to the treatment. Most patients find acupuncture extremely relaxing, and take a rejuvenating nap during treatment.

  • Loose, comfortable clothing that can be pulled above the elbows and knees is preferred.

Depending on your reason for treatment, areas under clothing may be needed to be accessed, and professional draping techniques are utilized to ensure your privacy and dignity.

  • After reviewing your intake form, Kassandra will ask you questions in a private treatment room to formulate a custom treatment for you. Once on the treatment table, you will relax with the needles for around 20-30 minutes. Most patient enjoy taking a nap during this time.

While soothing music is played in the room during sessions, patients are welcome to bring headphones to listen to their own music if they prefer.

  • There are two spots reserved in the driveway for patients.

  • We have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Any cancellations within 48 hours will be charged 50% of their treatment cost. Cancelling within 24 hours will result in a 100% charge for the treatment cost. We thank you for your understanding.

  • This allows us to charge your card after your appointment if there is an amount owing beyond insurance coverage. It is also required in the event that you missed an appointment without 48 hours notice, as you will be charged a cancellation fee as stated in our cancellation policy.

  • As the main philosophy of Tradiitonal Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture is to bring your body back into balance, if you can complain about it, it is likely that acupuncture can help with it.

Some more common examples include headaches, pain, fertility, menstrual problems, menopause, and stress management. Please see the “Services” page for more information.

  • As the main philosophy of Tradiitonal Chinese Medicine (TCM) is to bring the body back into balance, it is not mandatory to come with a specific complaint. Even if you are feeling fine, acupuncture can help keep everything running smoothly, and with a full assessment and TCM diagnosis, we can help you stay in optimal health.

Some examples of routine acupuncture include managing stress, improving digestion and sleep, preconception care, and birth preparation.
